The Bathroom?

In France there is one thing that is nice, but that I just can't seem to find the words for in English. It is the bathroom. In France most people have two bathrooms. One containing the toilet, and the other containing all the other things that one would expect a bathroom to contain. I have noticed my confusion in how to specify these two rooms when speaking to Americans about the colors of our new apartment. I have taken to calling them the toilet room and the shower room. I am hoping this helps with some of the misunderstandings.
