Taken hostage

So I have recently learned something new about France. It seems that if you are unhappy with the way your employer is running the company or if you want to see things changed in your company and your boss is not listening.....you can take them hostage. I don't believe that you are allowed to be mean to them, but you are allowed to lock them in their office and not let them leave the building for several days or weeks until they listen and/or give in to your requests. This seems so wrong to those foreigners who live here, but the French think it is an incredibly normal right to have.

The quote about it from the radio the other day (maybe slightly paraphrased) "There are more French people who belive in the resurrection of the dead than who believe that kidnapping their boss is bad."
